So it’s been over a year since I’ve updated this. Many things have happened in that time! The most important one is that some friends and I have started a mobile gaming company called 12 Mile Radius. We’ve already been working hard on our site and our first game! I’m super excited about getting it out hopefully by early 2011.

I finally got around to finishing up this 24-hour mini comic I first penciled in November. Sanjay, Nick, Milton, and now Angelina, are now planning our fourth 24-hour comic event. Hopefully this time I’ll actually complete my comic inking and all! I’ll also be posting later the 6 page comic I made during the latest 24-hour excursion.  For now, check out the comic I did finish:

I’ve spent entirely too much time on this, but it certainly has been a good experience and plenty of practice working on a few different techniques. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. It’s certainly not perfect, but I feel like my abilities have improved greatly through the months that I have spent on and off with this project.

There is a bunch of stuff going on right now, but I still feel like I’m not pushing myself enough. Here’s a logo I designed last week for a children’s Yoga company. I’m gonna try to renew the Illustrations section sometime soon with this in there.

So here’s what I was working on most of this week.  It’s still got a while to go, because I’ll be hand drawing a bowler hat floating around during that camera move.  Hopefully I’ll get that going after I get a final render early next week.

Not with paid work though…. This week I am dedicating to getting a few things over with.  Tomorrow I’ve got a special project in mind and I am planning on spending all day and only that day to do it.  Then the rest of the week I will spend animating the leader for my reel.  I am determined to get this done this week.

For now here’s my progress on that illustration I’ve been hacking away slowly on. 

I don’t think I’m gonna tighten up the background in the computer.  I think as is I’ll just print it out and start working out the pencils on bristol. I’m really scared to actually ink it, cause I don’t think I’m going to do as nice of a job as I’ve done here with the tablet. We’ll see.

I should probably use this more. I’ll post up what I’m currently working on.  Trying to get this done this week.  It’s also serving as practice for multiple mediums.  I’ve been tightening up the pencils by hand for a while.  Things still weren’t right in the composition so I scanned it to make a few adjustments and decided to give a little practice to inking with my tablet.  Later I’ll print it out in pieces and trace it onto some bristol to ink it by hand.  Part of me wants to ink it with a brush, but I don’t want to ruin it.  We’ll see.

I’m working on an illustration for my friend Matt that I will post as I finish parts of it.  Things are looking good.  Just need to start sending out those college applications now!

Illustration section is just about fully up and running. I should have more to post into that by next week.  The motion section should be up pretty soon too.  Right now I am pretty excited that I have something to show on here now.
